Dissatisfied "potential" customer

Got a call today from a posh lady to price some patching work in her house. So i tell her i'll be over when i'm finished my days work at 4-4.30 and she says fine!! 10 minutes later she rings back and ask me if i can go any sooner as the plastering is holding up the decorator :'( : So i say, i'll do my best and she then says, i'm going out at 3.45 so you need to be here by then or leave til 4.30. I eventually made it at 4.30 and her flat is 4 up (plenty of stairs) She opens the door and i'm almost gasping for breath and i tell her, jokingly, that was hard after a days plastering and she says...Why, what time did you start? and i say 7.30 and she says...that's nothing i started at 5! :

So off we merrily skip to look at her job. Theres various patches of bonding work, quite a few beads, filling a few holes where spots have been etc. So i tell her, yes, you estimate of 2 days is about right and my price is £370. HER FACE= MINE= : so she says how much is plaster? I KNOW it's cheap AND how much do you charge per day? I say £150 minimum and there's a lot of work in her "patching" THEN she tells me she has a great team of tradesmen all happily working for £90 per day!!! MY FACE= ;D ;D ;D Exit stage left. He reckoned a day would do the lot and I said it would take 2 days and quoted him £260. He said you have quoted me for 3 days as plasterers work for £80 a day Feckin chancer.

what we charge per day is our business. When you give a price then thats the price. They should just either accept or decline. F*****g pricks

Thats exactly how i play it with people like that challenge the ide that they are mere paupers actually below you in the pecking order and they cant actually afford you. they soon want the work done they cant face being cheapend by a dirty chippy arse with plaster dust in his hair

Im doin some work for 2 builders who have set up shop ive done few jobs and they have underpriced one of them and are upset that i got paid more than them, now they are sayin they want to always earn more than me so i told them to put their F*****g prices up lol

Im goin to price a job tomorrow for them they will get the price and when he askes how long i will be telling him have i got the job or not? Coz he will do the maths and work out the day rate and i cant be arsed adding on extra to be knocked down or sayin it will take two extra days longer than he thinks, a price is a price.

when my van goes in for repair i pay£50 per hr and that is cheap compared to main dealer prices,when my boiler breaks down i pay a gas enginer £75 call out and £45 pr hour there after.when i go down the whore house i pay £40 for a BJ and they think £150 a day is steep for a hard days skimming ???

So not are they underpricing the building works but the plastering as well, they'll be outa business soon, can you post there phone number cos I need some new power tools. Hopefully they'll underprice them too.

When I first started out iwas working for a butsh and sundance builders. I was on a day rate of £65 a day. Used to drag a day into two. Would of been cheaper to get someone in who new what they were doing, which they never susted out.

Which means they are paying the exact amount as they were paying you per day!


And to do it twice as fast means the quality wont be as good..............they will probably be back on the phone before the end of that job.

When they do phone back (and at some point they deffinately will) tell them you have doubled your prices as you can only be @rsed going at half the speed <----- They'll enjoy that
