We've all been guilty of it at some stage, either throwing cement into skim or bond or something along them lines.

Today, all week to I've been doing mates rates for a friend. His house is 15miles from the builders yard! Last ceiling I've it half first coated and he walks in with a bucket of skim that's like water, and says there's no skim left! I was all for scrapping it off and go get enough skim to finish the ceiling and do it right.

My friend says fcuk it, mixed it up with some tile adhesive and on it went. He wanted me to run the sponge through it and have circles all over the ceiling. TBH, it looked well but I'm now wondering what the outcome of mixing this addy with the skim will do.

Dodgey plastering at its best but all I could do is do what I'm told. I was adament I wanted new bags of skim but he was having none of it so just went ahead with what the paying client wanted. I made sure to tell him thou, anything happens to it, its his fault.

Some craic in this aul game alright lol.

Tile addy is the least of your worrys refurb mixes often contained greenys n piss in finish I wouldn't worry [emoji1]

If it's exactly what he says, I wouldn't give a flying fcuk if it was in my skim. Turd yes but not a greeny hackler. Sure it's not as if the plaster is going to get on ya if you know to put it on the ceiling right!

It is and there have been turds aswell but you only used the mix with your own turd in sharing was a no go

Know a guy who s**t in someone's lunch bag(plastic bag). Removed his lunch though. Was some craic at lunch time when he went to open it. Once he noticed, he flung the bag towards us and just missed our heads only for it to stick on the newly plastered walls and slide down it. The labouerer wasn't impressed when he was the one having to clean it :llorando:

Adding cement to bonding or finish to speed up the set isn't dodgy plastering. It's used on the odd occasion and I've never seen it fail.

I've never seen it fail but foremen and engineers don't be to happy about it. I've done it plenty of times but prefare not to in case it comes back to bite me.

Handy for when you're filling and making good chases. I always keep a bag of cement in the van.

I had to go back over other plasterers work that had put cement in skim on ceilings. The skim blow off 5 years later. 14 houses.
