Right then chaps I know there will be bits of info if I do a search but id just like a definitive yes or no from peoples own experiances please....

So is there a spat on a pole that can be used from start to finish throughout the troweling up stages for a ceiling exclusively without the need for a trowel at all???...

as in using the trowel for putting on and nothing else and tidying edges where needed...

if so is it good enough for all substrates and for low level ceiling in domestic houses under close scrutiny not just at high level work on commercial jobs etc...

ps...I do have a grey speedskim and do use for a quick flatten before jumpin back on the trowel and im also aware that the blue blade nearly gets you there so ive read but I want to use exclusively a spat on a pole for all the stages from beginning to end!

looks like I may be coming to the end of my career now as having major back issues so looking for any methods which will ease the day to day pain and ceilings kill me!!!

thanks in advance lads!!!:RpS_thumbup:

I use the blue blade speed skim and I still have to use a trowel after to get it nice
So as far as I am aware the answer is no
Hope someone proves me wrong

Yes.
No.
Maybe.
I don't know.
can you repeat the question.
Seem to remember reading about a wonder spat from refina recently which may fit the bill, but can no longer find the review, which is a shame.

Im sure @Fibrehand7 posted a while back about doing the whole process with a spat on pole?
Apart from laying the gear on obviously.
Said spankster and marshy told him how its done???:RpS_unsure:

You sure he didn't say it was done by "a **** on the dole"?

Depends how tall you are - or short.....

.... or how far away from the wall you stand!

no idea - if you want one, I am sure someone on here can develop one though!

I use the 800mmrefina spat quite regularly and the results are perfect, but the lad who works with me can't get on with it for finishing. Trick is get on it when it's wet as at a close angle and cross hatch, don't over work you only get 1 chance, 2nd trowel open up angle of spat and cross hatch again. 3rd trowel keep spat wet and repeat process you will need to tidy up edges with a super flex.
