Domestic market will go overload with workers if it happens.

*in the same post, building companys are increasing pre fab houses that come plumbed, wired, etc,,, this will only increase as technology and costs reduce.cant comment on internal finishes.
They claim to be able to build 400 prefabricated homes a year – all of which will come complete with bathrooms, kitchens, and light fittings, meaning plumbers, kitchen fitters, and even electricians could be impacted.

Very true , there is a place just opened in my town that have made some for social housing in Birmingham, I was fascinated tbh when reading it and even thought about contacting them if they need a plasterer but the first article you posted I can’t see that in 2 years time , maybe 15 years at least I’d take a punt on

I got told recently that plastering is dying out as they are now doing finished interior panels on some kit form houses but to me it’s never gonna replace plastering

Also remember on grand design there was that huff house thing from Germany that they said would take off in England and that was about 15 years ago I ain’t heard of it since

They don't plaster them...

Dryline & tape joint

Fair play mate the jointing will do me , I hate boarding

Anyone on the shop floor does the boarding & tape and joint they don't recognise as a trade.

Main work is for joiner, spark, plumbers. decorator.

Labourers or decorators do the jointing

Love to see that set up in a footings install cavity trays, tie wires insulation corners arches lintels ,string /dental courses gable cutting blah blah

There’s a reason the trowel is over 6000 years old

Citb guy on BBC news says,,,we will need a extra 150,000 construction workers over next few years.

I take robotic post and his with a pinch of salt.we didn't have enough workers before last recession and look what happened.the biggest lost of jobs in construction in my lifetime. When that kicked in,,,,its still boom and bust.

The bbc lol, the station is a joke and should be shut down.

They not the cheapest construction them hufhouses, and this blithering idiot country doesn't support self build. More hurdles and hoops to jump through than in a flipping circus. If you go over the continent, there's rarely an estate which consists hundreds of houses like here, some in Spain and social housing still mass produced everywhere but not the ordinary family's home.
Having national builders here just fuels the already expensive land prices, hence very little self builds as well

The price of any decent land is ridiculous, iv been trying to find something worth building on to sell but unless you can commit to buying something massive and building 4/5/6 houses on there the figures just don’t seem to add up for a single property

Keep your eyes peeled for semi's or end terrace properties that have the potential for another house on the side.
My old man has a long garden that I'm looking to build on, one of my rental houses has quite a bit of space to the side and I've got an 85ft front garden with potential.
Maybe three plots without having ever bought one as a plot.
Perfect if it comes off.

What they do around us is buying single houses with a big plot and trying to squeeze 4-6 houses on it. Otherwise it's just not worth it as you say.
You can try to sell it on when planning is gained then you don't have to float the build

1/ He's gonna be sorry when that thing decides it's had enough of him poking it with a stick.
2/ What's the point of building a machine to do your crossfit for you?
3/ I could do with one of them. I'd take it to the pub and get it to do my gobbing off for me.
He wont get tired,,,,just need to re charge him,,,he wont get distracted when women are around,,,no hangovers for big atlas.

Yes he is a male robot.

You should head for Burnley and buy a shell. Circa £15k. You won't sell it for a fortune, mind, but those shabby areas are slowly being done up and the properties will slowly become more desirable.

All this has been part of the building industry for quite a while now- ready partition walls, ready brick walls.... etc and we are still here. I don’t really see how humans can be replaced on site.
