Dot and dab question

Hi
I have removed some plaster from a block wall which has left plaster ingrained in the rough blockwork I've gone over it with a wire brush but ain't touching it I won't to dot and dab the wall just need to know if I have to remove what's left of the plaster before I do this and if so best way to do this thanks

Just kill the dust and dot and dab away
 
Brush off dust and blue grit it. When dry, dab away.

You still have a lot to learn!

Just dot & dab at worse just dapen down with a bit of water but I wouldn't!

Block work is designefed to take adhesive without needing anything on it!

I was referring to the chap above me who mentioned grit, I would kill dust, dampen and dab away
