just been doing some dot and dabbing on celcon blocks and had pva the whole wall once and got the boards all in square and upright all perfect then went back the next day and the boards had moved a bit and created a belly and some bows so now have to bond the wall in places! my question why did the boards move and how do i stop it?? :RpS_mad:

try dabbing the boards horizontal .since I changed from the traditional upright way I find it quicker and better to level the boards.I don't seem to fight with the boards any more.

Are you sure it's the dabs mate didn't know you had to pva for dabbing, do the boards rattle with the dabs on or are the boards rattling against the dabs?

I get confused with blocks, are celcon concrete or thermalites? I've pva'd thermalites once but never pvad concrete blocks, no need.

dab adhesive is designed for celcons an such no need to pva adhesive does all the suctions sounds like not enough dabs used in the middle of the boards

I've done a house this week with lightweight blocks. Didn't PVA them and the boards have stuck like s**t to a blanket. Used Lafarge G TEC board adhesive as it has a longer setting time as the blocks were very porous. I always put plenty of gear on too.

hi guys been out for the afternoon so sorry i havent replied i pva'd the walls cos i thought tht if i didnt the muck would go off 2 quick?? i dabbed all along skirting line and around the edges and had plenty of gear on there and they were bang on when i left them but sort of kept springing on me! is it better 2 use smaller boards i.e cut them in half?

muck too soft/pva combined might explain them springing and sliding downwards to create the hollows/bellies:RpS_thumbup:

could be that al:RpS_thumbup: if dabs have slid slightly and lost contact with boards or wall !

would thank ya for that possible answer al but seen as it wasnt my thread and i was just saying ya could easily be right, i will nee push ya button :RpS_tongue:

Cheers jonst - It stands to reason to me, think about it - if the board was stood upright tight against a wall it would eventually bend in a concave or convex fashion:RpS_thumbup:

yep see ya point :RpS_thumbup:must have been last job of the day tho, cos ya would have noticed it if ya was about !
was it last job Mrkpc28 ?

i had this once but found out it was the bloody electrician he had his lunch leaning against my wall , needless to say i bonded all the boxes on that wall whilst i was filling in the dip the fat fcuk made

i usally try to make a deal with the sparks if they cut and roll thier wires in then i will clean thier boxes out wen ive done and if they leave them out then i will cut them back to nothing and leave them fulll of sheite

Did it say on the bag of addy to PVA the lightweight blocks, some how i doupt it, so why did you, just dust them of and stick away and yeah as has been said railroad them .
