How do you guys who do domestic work tackle properties where render has been removed and brickwork needs dubbing out before mono.

I'm using Parex Monorex, do you dub out with the monorex? use a different product?

Thanks

If your going down the sand and cement backing prior route , make sure you use good quality washed plastering sand, there's some piss poor quality sand about, and the last thing you want is any salts coming through to your mono coat.

Just read the technical data sheet and it mentions: FOR DECORATING WATERPROOF CONCRETE AND MASONRY SUBSTRATES – I.E. COVERED WITH A WATERPROOFING MORTAR.
When I spoke to a rep about a year ago about using sand/cement as a scratch coat he said that they don't advise it. But this above suggests to me that a scratch of CPI general purpose for example wouldn't be a prob.

Having said that I also see mentioned about adding Lanko to the mix as scratch, that might be the way to go on this one.

Basically which ever material you use wi need to have a lot of waterproof in to stop the mono pulling in. Obviously they want you to use there base coat But s&c is fine
