dust mask

Make sure it's FFP3 or better. It's difficult to avoid dust all the time because it always airborne on dirty jobs. Wearing one while mixing is a definate for me but to totally protect your lungs you'd have to wear one all the time which would be an absolute ballache.
 
I use one similar to that but my 3M. My brother in law used to work for an asbestos removal company so he got me a few. I used to rip down lath and plaster ceilings all day and not even know id done it by home time
 
Get a face fit mask from your local hire shop, they will customize it to fit your face perfect they cost around 20 to 30 quid but they last a good few years
