i had to take a lath ceiling down to day OMG dust i cnat breath i had a crappy mask and no googles i came home looking like a african man after a bong!

Those thin masks are useless. I wear glasses as well so when I put one on they steam up, so I cant see or breath >:(
Respirator masks are the future but you have to change the filters on some models every month whether its been used or not.

I never take ceilings down anymore its pointless, board over them.

But its MUCH MORE FUN taking 'em down.
Lots more of a sense of achievement and pride in your trade.
If everyone overboarded the job would become boring

Get a Sundstrom respirator, absolute dogs, the filters don't need replacing every month, mask costs about £25, filters are £10, (can be used for asbestos removal too), I've had mine for 3 years best I've had, comfy too!

i'm not mate, had enough lately.

Used to do a lot of work on schools and the old ceilings mainly had to come down and they ranged between 60 and 80 sq m. Worst 1 we ever had was over a meter deep in soot and crap, they were all special but that 1 really made my day NOT. Often we had as much as 2 skips of rubbish and by the way think about denailing that type of area!!! That in itself took a day.

i love de nailing, love it when the head comes off the nail and u
get to bang it back into the joist

sod doing de-nailing thats why i just take of the plaster! and cross batton! saves loads of time and its easier to clean up rubble than it is to clean rubble with laths in!

A few i give to the dog, he loves them. The rest i put im pockets, then pi$$ me self when my missess checks the pockets before putting them in the wash.
