working on a re furb for a know all b uilder who doesnt like you prepping (thinks your taking the piss).taking some wallpaper off very old coming off a doddle when old know all says why you doing that i explain needs to come off coz drywall adhesive wont stick to it,his reply was bollox it will stick ive done it many times.now this was a staiwell wall not a side one but a nice high end one, just dot and dab he says no i say and so on untill i say ill mix up and cut the boards you stick em up.

skimming it this afternoon and a bit of extra pressure and oops off came one then another then another not all the way off mind just hanging and flapping. cleaned my tools and went down and said i see what you mean mate works a treat ill see you tomoz. hesaid bye and i left ,up to now ive had 6 missed calls what a w**k*r
 
it depresses me to see a tradesman accepting that kind of money. i was earning that as a hod carrier in the 80's :-(
 
answer the phone mate, see what he wants. but record the conversation to use as evidence in the court case
 
I agree many a job have i turned down , i can't be botherd with people who get you to come out give them a price than expect you to graft for nowt (they would'nt).£80 young lasses in asda are on more.But it,s hard times and i wish rock all the best..
 
to be honest im not sure if you can anymore. on the old nokias you used to be able to. maybe put it on loud speaker and record it somehow? what phone have you got?

Did'nt mean it as a dig I'm in full areement with ya Mate,dont think i could go and work for 80 a day would'nt give them the satisfaction,but some of the young lads need the money,(not like us) LOL
 
not ne spread altho i did put the most pressure ever when trowling and my margin trowel might of had a little pry behind was nt hard poped right off.
my phones a knacker

broonster im over 30 years at it mate.2 little babies food, bills and father christmas so i will work for 80 a day as i say i dont swet tho thats extra
 
Seriously. I would tell him how much of a useless PRICK that he is and NOT to tell me how to do my job ever again! Cnuts like him just kettle my swede
 
cant understand why he is dot and dabbing a stairwell in the first place... waste of money... strip paper off... replace any damaged browning and skim the lot...
 
to be fair render its probably quicker and easier dabbing plus its got some very high gloss paint all over so its a pain a quick dab and job done

update got there this morning and had to wipe the smile off my face .he lost the plot saying id left knowing it had failed i denied and said looked good when i was leaving.i asked him if he still needed me he said yes i asked him can i get on with my job with out being told how to do it he said yes i asked for a pay rise he said phuck off

You need to be looking around for other jobs mate, then f*ck him right off. Do as little as you can for the money until Xmas is done. Good luck.


Mind you - I've just read your first post again and as you're going over plastered walls you should be using the Gyproc sealant (applied with a mastic gun in blobs) AND as it's on a staircase you will probably be going over the max. height allowed for that system (RF I think). Can't remember the max height, sorry. Just a heads up, cos you already told him that - and he ignored your advice:RpS_wink:

yea i use the sealant stuff abit like foam i have some in van in case of small jobs dont need to mix etc.

i need the work believe me i d love to eff him off.im always on the look hopefully something will be around the corner

Ihope some decent work comes your way coz it boils my piss when arseholes try and take advantage of us this way!!!!!!!!
