i personally would have pulled in from the top left ceiling line to the top right... then the left side above the door... then top of door to meet where ive pulled in from the ceiling line and then pull in the sides of the architrave and right side by the wall, then from the skirting up to the door frame height to join up with the pulled in ceiling line/top right wall finish that had been pulled into that area... tho due to it being so close to the wall and a bit of a squash i may have done spread it from half way of the wall up to the top and then from the skirting to join up with the top half, always prefer a nice big run without joining tho really, personaly preference
its hard when workin on ur own allday to no if wot u do is the quickest way..for all i no i could be doin it the long way round!but jobs a good um at the end..
wots been pissin me off last few week is iv been having to work with another plasterer...
he puts the first coat on and then flatens it...bearly..then mixes up even dow the first coat is still reali reali wet!
its like 1 big coat..will not av it that u have 2 wait for the first coat 2 go a lil bit first..fair nuff saves about 30mins a sec but i recon ur asking for problems..
im sure theres quicker ways that the way i do it but guess im just used to the way i do it and i feel more comfortable doing it the way ive done from the start, tho im not sayin i wont change... im all up for doing things diffeently, just not yet. i always wait for it to pick up before slapping on another coat, how long have you been working with this guy for?
I worked with a spread once he waould smash the first coat on then spin up another mix and lay the 2nd coat straight over and not flatten in the first.....lol
when people stick a mix stright on top the one they just layed..it just like doin 1 coat..and is far more filling and trowling needed to get a good finish..if u let the first coat go abit..the secon one will just glide on and all u av 2 do is flaten it no filling reali needed as the second coat gos on so well...
It's hard to find a real 'plasterer' on youtube, most of 'em look like chancers that started last week. I guess the rest of us are just getting on with the job!
