Exterior rendering mix, do I have to use lime?

Hi guys, I'm new on here. I'm not in the trade anymore as I left over 30 years ago to do something easier .
Anyway I have some rendering to do on an exterior wall at home and would use sand, cement and lime due to it being cheaper than those ready mixes, however I am having trouble getting lime in my local builders merchants and its showing as out of stock every where (is there a shortage)? Are there any other options I can use?

Selco and Travis and decent large builders merchants would have it mate.

Just use a decent plasticiser instead mate.

Thanks, I was wondering if I could just use a plasticiser and that would be handy as I need far less than a full bag of lime

You are correct, Travis have some though is more expensive than B & Q or Tradepoint
