Hi guys,

The side of our house is about to have k rend hpx applied but the only thing I have not removed yet is the external gas pipe. The pipe runs up the side of the house to the boiler in the loft. Would you guys cover this and render over it, or remove then reinstall after render? Would love to hide this pipe or blend it in somehow. It's always been on my list to reroute this internally, but due to its location will be a lot of work. I'm almost tempted to chase it in some how... Moving the pipe is not an issue as that's my trade, but was wondering on how you guys would over come this, as this type of instillation is becoming more common as boils are moved into the loft.

Cheers!

Personally i would go the long way round and route it internally cos at the end of the day you know it's the right way, isn't it

Is it coming out of the gas meter box? This is usually a 22mm pipe so a bit big to hide.

If you can take it off then fit back later it will be neater and easier.

If your going to remove it anyway then I'd re route internally and box in with some mdf and paint straight over it, or plasterboard and skim but that's messier and longer.
If it's on the front or side elevation and you don't want to re route internally then send it around the plinth and up the back elevation where it will be least visible from the front and side.

If that's your job remove while the works done then re do it hiding it in round conduit painted the same colour ,failing that move the boiler to ground level
