Good morning all,

If possible I would like some advice on rendering an external wall.

Basically I replaced my front door with a window and block below, the area is around 6ft wide by 4ft high. there is a gap of about 1cm from the block to the existing brick work for the render (will try and attached picture).

I would now like to do a smooth render to match my other window.

Should I PVC the block first before applying a scratch coat?

For the scratch coat mix would it be 4 -1 with waterproofer like febproof?

How long would this need to set before applying the final coat?

For the final coat mix would you use waterproof again or lime? in the same 4 - 1 mix?

Thank you in advanced

Sbr and cement slurry, never use pva outside. I scratch 4/1 with freeflo and same for topcoat although you could go 5/1 and I put freeflo in that as well.

thank for the advice, is the scratch coat best leaving for a day before applying the finish?
