Believe it or not but that is often one of the "Rústico" finishes we have to do on old or faux old buildings.
It's a pain in the arse if you are trying to match new walls on a house with old rustic render. You never know if you have left enough trowel marks and bumps until it's painted

To be fair i could be taking pics all day long but here there has also been building booms where everyone and anyone became craftsman overnight . Greedy developers not giving shoite as usual. So guys who may have been picking olives one week be let loose sticking yer house together the next.

took some good photos today... but tomorrow I am off to house made of tyres and proper eco house... cant wait... they are friends of our friends we are staying with :-)

Sounds cool and the gang. Saw a Kevin mcleod program like that the other week. House made of tyres in Belize. I used to make flip flops from old tyres and rope. Few years ago now. Went for a whole year without washing my hair. Was living in concorde at the time.

Sorry mate. That was a too good of an oppourtunity to miss when danny poted that pic

I worked on a new build a few years ago where the blockwork had to have big blobs of mortar a few trowel fulls at a time slapped onto the walls here and there and then rendered over the whole lot in a rustic style a week later. It was to help make the house look like it was a few hundred years old. The external walls had also been deliberately built wider at the bottom and gradually came in as they went higher. It looked really authentic when it was finished.
