Is it that hard!?

Had a plasterer booked in...let me down last minute by text saying he had pulled his back mowing the lawn the previous Sat.

Bricky dropped a stone on his foot, another bricky let me down today to look at job saying he was going to have to work very late...on a Friday?!

Labourer won't work a minute after 4:30...not prepared to work weekends.

I've advertised recently for spreads on subcontracting basis...good rates of pay, not one response!!

The building trade is full of unreliable c@nts mate. I wonder how some of them manage to put food on the table. My explanation for it is that the majority of building workers aren't in the building trade because they want to be, but because it's the only place they can get work. Probably because they either f@cked up at school or were 'trouble' when they were younger. You need to find people that actually enjoy what they do, and hang on to them.

we had someone let us down aswell had a large kitchen to do today and scott booked in another spread to help me but he diddnt turn up and waited till we rang him to say he was goin to come in and do a half day (afternoon) so when scott told me this i told him to ring him back and tell him to go fack himself ill do it on me own.
seems that no one is reliable anymore, it makes me laff because the afore mentiond spread worked with me earlier in the week and was saying how he was desperate for work this week

Theres alot out there on benefits working for cash...despite changes they are still easily playing the system. Until something changes they will always have something to fall back on. I wish they would just get rid of the lot, doesn't do our economy any favours.

Blimey tony if only it was that easy , we would all have a dozen blokes working for us,that's why I stay on my own don't need the agg :rolleyes)

Plasterers have their own ways of working, very hard to just have one jump in with you, I always preferred to train people to do as I do, you can't do this with people in the game for a long time.

It's frustrating yes, but you have to remember, if they had anything about them, they would have enough of there own work.

Anyone can be out of work on occasion, the downturn changed things for lots of us, these plastering firms look for cheap as chips spreads and moan about the quality but you get what you pay for ,I see adds on here all the time, plasterers needed, then the op goes quiet when asked about pay often going off the forum completely, lots on here are cheap as chips types too so they will undercut everyone , quality assured of course
