Fire cement

Hi lads,
I know this has been discussed before but when I did a search there didnt
seem to be any good answers. I'm doing some damp proofing in a house that
also needs inside the fire place rendered. They burn coal etc in it and the old
render has come away. Any suggestions ? ( not vitcas- it sounds like shite)

sooner or later the render will alyways come away if the burn coal even a concreat fire back will fall in time with that heat

vitcas works but its mega expensive,cant you just stick some hydrated lime in it in your render mix.
