It should be fairly flat after the the first trowel daz ,there shouldnt be any lines anyway ;)

are you on about flattening in on board or reskim on board you should not be leaving lines on reskim means the background is bad and you should have bonded out

some lads flatten in others flatten as they go others lay on neat and dont need to others lay on really bad c**t loads on and get lines showing through .......wait for it to pick up especially on reskims then flatten it so you can take the lines out

Not messing with nothing , as grand says there may be lines if the backgrounds a bit pete or his trowel aint ready yet, but it should be flat'ish anyways

when flattening in do you have to get rid of all lines or can they be taken ouit on second trowling

Daz do you mean "flattening in" in between coats or do you mean the first trowel? If you mean between coats as Spunky says some do and some dont, if you mean the first trowel then you may leave lines but they should be very shallow, a lot depends on how much suction there is and how early you have jumped on to trowel up.
