float and set prices

can anyone give me some advice on what metre prices are good and bad for float and set hardwall and skimming plasterboard.im working on 3 new houses north of london and we have been given a price for each house.but i wamt to work it out with a price by the metre to see if we are getting ripped off.thanx
 
h/wall and skim supply starts at around 10ish and skim on board starts at 5ish supply
 
labour only for a sub contractor on a price will get around 6.50 but i hear lads at the mo are getting around 5 float and skimm. skimm onto board around 2.25-3.00 and same for dot dab
 
no that's partly why i jacked every wall on the floor we started on get skimmed about 4 times trying to get it within a 1mm tolerence we ended up on day work tryin to get it right ive never ruled finish before! the gaffer needed grow a back bone and get them told or pull off the job
 
i get the impression these so called site agents did a two week course in 'site agency' and the real world just doesnt come into it... i can understand people talking about improving standards but the whole problem has come about in the first place with people wanting to pay rock bottom prices... I cant understand why some of the dickheads havent figured that out yet!
besides.. theres industry standards laid out by british gypsum.... theres a pdf i got on my poota that i downloaded after gettin the link on here.. it was called 'when is a ripple not a ripple' or somesuch.. ill see if i can find it..
 
have you ever heard the saying youve got a nice pair of bristols?......theyve all got huge tits mate .....stay away from clifton (expensive) hartcliffe, knowle west, bedminster, southmead, filton, (theyll just want to mug you) ....if you want a good all dayer get out on the waterfront on a saturday (pitcher and piano, loyds etc) and the best club at the mo is oceana
 
nice one napper, just added that.. that articles worth a read if anyones interested.. talks about common sense within the industry.. something which nappers gaffer was sadly lacking..
 
i heard its got a good supply of student birds ill check the waterfront out i think next sat after just gotta think of an excuse for er indoors of why ive worked the weekend but not earned any money ;D ;D
 
and if you need to score either ahem or ooer its city road st pauls off the bus station ;)
