floor screed

Got a floor screed to do for my old man. It's only gonna be 2.5 x 2.5m and about 10mm(ish) deep in a small utility rooms so I was gonna use a self leveling compound like sika or something. Never used self levelling compounds before only done sand and cement screeds.
Is it as easy as it looks and what will a room that size cost?

the normal floor levelling compounds are only any good up to about 3mm or they'll crack...
i once knocked it up with some silver sand for deep patches and it crazed but it stayed down and was getting timber flooring over the top anyway so just went along with it..
ordinary screed no good at 10mm though...
youve still got to sort of push the compound around a bit when you lay it and make sure youve sorted the floor suction cos it starts to go off soon as it hits the floor, sbr is ideal...
i dare say you could do it in 3 applications, letting each cure inbetween and sbr'ing the floor each time...
if the floors miles out of level though its all gonna end up in one corner...
i'd stick a big level over it first just to see what youre lookin at..

p.s. never tried sika but goin off others experience with their products i wouldnt touch it with a bargepole...
wickes do 2 compounds, flexi at around 15 a bag and standard at around 7.50 a bag..
the best i find by far is cempolatex, bit more expensive but you get a bang on finish with it...
stuff does about 4m2 at 3mm (ish) per bag

kin ell nice one spoony... ive always found that sort of thickness problematic.. ill bet its not cheap but id no idea it was available.. no ones ever mentioned it..
