My entire house is flat roofed and ive had it re covered and insulated making it a cold roof.

I 6am going to pull down the old lath and plaster ceilings and replace with plasterboard, whilst doing this i need to install a vapour barrier, which for most areas i will cover with polythene, however the joists about the bathroom were in bad shape and needed to be replaced so i wana use foil backed plasterboard for this room as well, just wanted to know about sealing the joints. Is using foil tape ok or would it cause a problem when skimming over it.

Thanks

You cannot plaster over foil tape.

Also can u use normal plasterboard screws on insulated plasterboards or are there long ones made for this.

My bathroom celing is the only celing where the lath and plaster has been removed and replaced with boards, i had some water damage so someone the board has come away and ive noticed it was fixed with clout nails, is that weird?

Not weird but wrong screw your boards up just make sure you hit the joists and not the laths

im not sure why they were invented to be honest putting foil onto plasterboard wont do anything......just screw them up and skim them.
im still trying to work out why youd dab plasterboard onto walls lol...
a shiit system but it pays.

I'd much rather tack using Duplex board than have to put up a polythene membrane.
