Whats the crack with using frostproofer in the render?? The tub says frostproofer and rapid hardener but how much working time will you get??? Will you get time to chuck it on the wall and get it resonably flat before it starts going off???? Any ideas lads??:RpS_bored:

Some frostproofers work better than others. I bought some everbuild stuff last year and as an accelerator and it was rubbish. No frost problems though. I find Wickes stuff better. It is a bit of trial and error as to how much to put in. Becarefull on the top coat coat, the prior coat(s) will need to have fully hardened first. If the second coat hardens faster than the first it could blow or craze.

I wouldn't completely trust ANY frostproofer mate, better to cover your work before you leave - or better still if the forecast is poor, leave the fukka:RpS_thumbup:

You Northumberland folks get some harsh frosts:RpS_crying:

aye. had a canny 1 this morning.. forecast abit better 4 the rest of the week.the window of oppurtunity is decreasing rapidly to get this rendering done this time of year. school boy error

Start off with 1 ltr per mixer full and take it from there. Never had to go more than 2 ltrs with the Wickes stuff.

how did you get on artisan im having same prob this year i just want to put a scratch on my place then prob do finish next year what product did u buy mate and how did it all turn out????/

brick work and gonna put 5 1 1 sand cement lime mix gonna sheet over after but just wondering about frost proofer only ever used it for brick laying not render but have to render my house scratch at least cos damp in my little girls room

the old render has blown and taken the faces off the brickwork making them porous, shouldnt have been rendered in the first place but its an old council house and seems like common practice
