I got a 51 mwb semi high Transit van.
its costing around £80 to fill and have noticed im filling more frequently then id like too.
Just clocked my last mileage and to a tank i did 346 miles for £80 diesel.

i always keep at least 10 boards and 10 finnish +couple bonding etc plus plenty of kit but i still think that is low mileage.

What you guys getting out of your vans???
Only reason im asking is i had a new fuel pump fitted in the last month or two and wandering if this is using to much fuel etc???? cusing the problem.
or is it just the way it is?

ive got a kangoo and ill get 300 miles from 40 quid.....how much did the fuel pump cost mate?

Ive got a semi high roof tranny aswell mate and by my calculations you're only getting about 21 to the gallon out of that, I'm getting low 30s out of mine..... averaging about 32 ish. Seems quite heavy on juice to me that...... I've worked it out on diesel being £1.09 per litre which is what it is near me. either way a penny or two here or there won't make that much difference. :-\

Cheers nrm2007 back to the garage i think,i thought the consumtion was to high.
As for the comment about the van not being worth £900 quid, its probably not i dont now??? but i do know i need it to earn money and i need it every day.Its all set up to my needsi.e racking etc so if its of the road for2-3 days ive lost £500 in wages,i know the van is a good runner and starts everytime this the only prob ive ever had from her.I wouldnt be searching around for another van just becuse of £900 needs spending as i could be buying more problems and the same could easily happen again with another van,at least i no this van if that makes sense??
i just told the guy to repair it asap as i dont want it off the road as i need it.

I gotta ducato and NO theyre not a pile of sirapite.Best van i ever owned. Had it from 1yr old and not 1 problem. Except for 20 mpg :( :( :( :(

what was the mileage skimming?...........i heard it was compulsary on all transits every 50000 and cost grand

mileage was 120000 spunks.Second time now mate,so yeah thats about right every 50-60 tho

ALDO ..... No mate ,i didnt think u were dissin van,was just trying to explain why id rather repair than scrap her...although the vans a heap of sh i t.
but i know fu ck all about vans and would probably by the same if i bought a new one i.e problem van

its about right pal you cant compare with the likes of car vans ie. kango astra they are designed to run economically proper vans are built to shift weight and are tuned with lots of torque your tranny should return around 30 mpg where as say a 13 cdti astra could return double that. also fuel is creeping up at the mo remember a couple of months ago it was near down to a pound/litre they recon in the new year it will hit 1.25ish/litre. keep your tyre pressure bob on always keep your air filter clean and drive sensible is the best way to pace your fuel, I fook1n hate fueling up

£40 gets me 250 miles in a citroen relay always fairly loaded. (driver is anyway)

You know how they say keep your tyres topped up and its good for fuel.

Bought a tranny ages ago, the steering was heavy, but cos it was a new van (new to me that is) I just went along with it, anyway I noticed one of the front tyres was bald as f*ck on the inside edge, so took it and got it changed, the sterring went miles better.

Before the tyre change I was doing 180 miles per £40 of diesel

After the change it went up to 280 miles per £40 quid!!!

The lad who did it checked the tracking and balancing and everything but it was all ok, just this wanky tyre was costing me a fortune.

Before this experience I was a bit sceptical about what effect tyres had on fuel economy, I am no longer a sceptic :)
