went to price up a job last night that a straight from college newb plasterer under cut him self and has run for the hills.

the ceiling was artex the custard has striped it all off and has left a dusty white powder one the lid.
he tried to PVA over it and its started to blister and peel off?????
could it be distemper?????
soo he palled a sicky and done a runner
iv suggested maybe using a WBA or BOND-IT then skim.
the so called plasterer said better to over board it lol

he set beads with bonding all proud of the 2mm skim not cut to length didnt even bother to try a prep the walls or anything.
started at 9am spent half the time on the phone to his mate asking about the ceiling ran off a 2pm with his tail in-between his legs.
he prices the job up at £230 with mats didnt even give the custard a time scale.....
room was 6m+3.5m walls light artex small bit of bonding out then skim.
think he mite want too rethink his pricing....

i make it about 66.6m2 give or take.......
say 7/8 bags of muilti 2 pva 5 beads and 2 tubs of WBA iv got bonding soo that dont count.....
about £70 from wickes. soo £230-£70=£160 for a 66.6m2 room over atex walls id say panted with silk and a chimney breast 5 3m skim beads. and bonding out ????? any one elce fancy his odds then lol iv priced.
It at what i think is ok for me and a lab for two days with mats.

Your best just replacing the old custard with some new custard. I'd recommend Birds. Make sure you give it a good coat of full fat milk first.

As a backing coat yes, but you want Dream Topping to skim it with :RpS_thumbup:

No, you mix it with sugar syrup to bond the Artex, the hundreds and thousands provide a key for the custard.

bugga sorry mate im new to the pudding plastering ive only really used chocolate sauce but it victoria sponge floats up lovley
might try that mono cake-rend next week

Jeeesus Fatz your posts are a nightmare to read. You type just like some bellend that used to be on here. He was from Kent as well funnily enough, you might know him. Last I heard he was off getting married to a proper munter.
