As it was getting slow, I took on work subcontracting to a firm in london which is still domestic work, most of the time very easy as its all board work but there is occassions where there are ceilings like 3.2 high which is hard work, anyway I supply materials and then invoice them the day of the work, but it takes them 3-4 weeks to make a payment to me which works out really expensive for me with travel and parking at about £20 a day aswell, which is all added to the invoice. But am i being unreasonable to expect a cleared payment within two weeks rather than the 3-4 weeks at the moment, I have brought this to their attention last week but I just want a bit of feed back from you guys before I hammer home the point this week.

I take your point but this work is on a cis basis so they are deducting 20% tax so really in my mind in should be paid quicker

just had the same bollox, domestic job, expecting paid at end of job... gave us all this cis bollox then 3 week wait...
id up may prices if i was you to cover the headache, just dont tell em what its for, just say your increasing your prices, if they dont like it, what you do then is up to you..

About a 4 / 5 week wait from finish of job to payment normally ,some i deal with take longer 5/7 weeks some times, sending reminders and chaseing money is just stanard sort of stuff in my case

yeh but i know your loaded. ;) You dont have to worry about it. We all know you go on your flashy holidays to pontins and that ::) :)

if your doin it all the time, look at it as working a month in hand for a firm... same difference innit?

just because you go on saga hoilidays dont knock mine :P look at my post count young jedi

i think they leave it so long cos they have to declare what they hav payed out by the 19th of every month. If not they get charged or summat like that

I did notice your post count. I wont take me long tho ;)
Saga holidays are for swingers aint they? I ll try and book up this week :P

ive got to say you lot have suprised me if you work for bdl or any other drylining firm you work a week in hand, i have also worked for other plastering firms who pay you that week. when you do domestic work you get paid when you have finished the work. So if im doing somone elses work and supplying materials I dont think its unreasonable to expect payment within 14 days.

i had to wait 2 months on invoice work for the council a few years back, however if you're on cis, it ought to be week in hand.

yes its on cis so basically im in their employment which is why i believe it should be within 14 days

yea week in hand no more thy might sting u at end for 3 weeks .i wen to a NEW job last week a small extenshion on waringtonhospital. all walls were creamed of thy wanted me to do about 200mr of celings at 3 mers hight all of a deck all on price at £3. loads a pillers and s**t in way cut outs every wheir . well thy told me thy pay every 2 weeks ok fine no probs then he told me we half way throu booking in week so i could only book 4 days..then wait 2 full weeks then invoce then get payed following week asked about other lads what hapened to other spread tht were hear .thy got bumped .so i had a chat to boss man told him i wana pull every week or two at max.he said we do it that way so we got sumit on you.fk as if im gona do a ceiling that needs piceing up about 15_20 x and risk geting payed .fk this is what hapens when u phone firms up for work and u never heard of them..
