Nothing really to do with plastering and probably in the wrong section, but I think this is the section most people read, I was wondering if anyone knew a website or glazier that would supply custom made glass splashback for a kitchen. Had a few quotes from local glaziers but its coming in at around £900 which i'm not really willing to pay haha! only need about 3.5 m2

I looked at getting some done and it was like £4k... I wanted black glass but they all wanted to supply clear glass that has been painted black on the back.... rubbish

Went with 600x600 black tiles with black grout and 1mm spacers :D Looks good now

4 grand!! Ouch!! I originally thoought about tiling but someone suggested the glass to me and thought there wouldnt be much difference in cost. now ive seen some examples I think it looks great, but can bring myself to shell out 900 plus whatever the fitting costs would be on three small panels of glass!

I will get some photos of what we did :D the tiles had no bevel edge on them so it was as good as glass and all I had to do was buy the tiles :D

Just pay it if u like it , what u gonna save if u go another route for something that ur not 100% happy with , ur s long time dead ,

Where abouts are you buddy? my mate got me some very cheap he works for cameo glass - but was only after a small section

Be creative,
Go round looking for old double glazed Windows take the glass out, mis match it on the walls and then get some kids to scribble on it with black marker......that's what some call art and would pay thousands/millions for.
You'd have a kitchen worth more than the house and then can f**k skimming off and make glass magic for a living.
I'd like 5% of all future sales and you to do my kitchen after yours.

Dundee mate up in Scotland, its not that expensive for one piece but when you add on cut outs for scokets and that it all soon adds up

Bit like some American white oak worktops I bought,
Base price was ok but then rounded corners, sink cut out, nano coating bumped it up to almost 4K.
Cost me more than the kitchen units in the end!

If you like it just do it, otherwise the alternative you use you'd compare to what you haven't got or could of had and it will bug you thinking what it would of looked like!

Probably will end up getting it done, just didn't realise the cost, I thought around £600 mark but ive been quoted double for supply and fit.

Fit them yourself it's easy , if i can do it so can u,
If you've had 2or3 firms round and they all quoted roughly the same then that must be the price, I did know someone who got plain glass and painted them himself , I never saw them but he was over the moon with them , I think that's all the glass companies do , u pick a bs number paint and they roll it on stick silver foil (bit more than silver foil I know ) on it , job done, u could experiment with an off cut of glass first?
