Ive got my speed skim now 1200/ 600 and ceiling attachment, not used it that much yet as i keep forgetting to get it out the van, but what i have used it for, i would say its a good investment so far, the ceiling attachment is nice and tight and keeps the 1200 stable over ceilings, it makes life easier but it will never better the trowel, ive got a 37mtr ceiling im doing on monday so i will use it on that.:RpS_thumbup:

Good for a quick flatten is all, handy enough on a big ceiling I suppose.
Put on flat in the 1st place and there shouldn't be much need for it though,

Yes flat in the first place is how i do it, good for big stuff like you say, only used it on second coat to take out any trowel lines that might have been in there, there are plenty more jobs it can be used for, not just for flattening skim.

I done a big ceiling over artex today I used it on the pole to flatten 1st and 2nd coat it makes it that bit easier well worth having in the van I reckon

What else would you use a speed skim for mate? That a derby or featheredge wouldn't do

Its good for big areas just makes it that bit easier when your troweling up i think , maknly ceilings i use it for really managed fine without but just seems to take that bit work out of troweling up

I agree with not using it on second coat. With the lines it leaves you have to flatten with the trowel before it firms up too much as you would without using it. Never used it with spat though.

Believe it or not I do say what I think and 99percent of it comes from personnel experience and what I've learnt about a lot of bullshitters I've met up with on site

the only time i use my stainless is when i one coat my face with finish look into it and slowly shave with my homemade plastic pikey ******* trowel type stick thing........and it works.
thinking of getting a huge stainless steel trowel now for the wall in my lounge so folks can see themselves when they come for a cuppa.

Everything a darby and featheredge will do, and when i take the blade out of the ali handle i use it for spankin the wifes ass:RpS_laugh:

Why use it on the second coat it ruins it and sends you backwards
Like i said i havent used it that much yet, i will find out what its more suited to the more i use it, what makes you think it riuns the second coat? have you had this kind of experiance with it?

Will it **** it won't replace either apart from giving pure missus a spank
I didnt say it will replace any of those tools, i havent used it much yet, i will find out what its good for the more i use it, 14319 posts since 2009, dont you ever go to work, 4091.14 messages a year! thats 11.20 posts a day, F*****g get a job or a wife:flapper:.
