A while back I priced up a job but lost out to some c**t who told the 'developer' that he could do it for a grand less - without even walking round the fkin job! I had told him I would have the job completed by mid December.
Anyhow I was in the BMs this morning and I bumped into the sparky who told me that the other c**t hasn't even started yet as he's too busy (I wonder why?), so by my reckoning - even if he started this week - he is going to be down by at least 2 months rent @ £700 per month. Good innit?:RpS_biggrin:

We can all work 7 days a week for nothing, remember that the next time the developer comes back to you and believe me he will.

Funnily enough my informer was telling me that the developer is 'thinking about' asking me to finish the outside :RpS_biggrin:

Ive had lots of clients drift to others trying to get cheaper, they have mostly drifted back. we are more expensive for many good reasons. take his work, take his money and do it all with a smile

alot of people cnt see past the end of thier nose nowadays all they think is cheap.

so many know the price of everything, and the value of nothing!!

I hope you get the work Bubbles - I guess that guy has learnt the hard way......

We all lose jobs like this, I lost a nice one before xmas, the man, friend of my uncles was told "john is riddled with arthritis " "cant work like he used to" too busy etc. " we have a lad cheaper etc..very annoying as people were making money off of getting others in cheap... its a long old life we lead though.... Once someone affects your earnings it does niggle badly...

definately take his work and his money bubbles, just smile be polite and dont rub it in this will definately make it more embarrissing/humiliating/guilty/feel bad about it, better doing it this way than you turning up on site and shouting told you so etc etc,but next time he will come to you rather than that gob on a stick

in all honesty you can't blame the builder for wanting to save a few quid, we all do it in every day life, look for cheaper fuel cheaper food cheaper insurance cheaper tools etc etc it's part of life as a few have said take the work offered with a smile knowing you are gonna get paid for it don't even mention the other guy

An update on this.

The bloke rang me at the weekend asking me if I had time to come along and finish off this job because the other 'plasterer' has "moved to Scotland" :RpS_scared:
Apparently he has only done a little bit of the job anyhow, but I told him I couldn't fit him in until May. He was nearly crying, saying he doesn't want to wait that long. Shame really :RpS_unsure:

Tell him you can get it finished sooner but will need a handling fee to do so, then sub it out to some lads off of here.

I had someone in mind off here but I think he must be busy cos I PM'd him right after the phone call. No reply :RpS_unsure:
