I’m getting a lot of enquiries for the green grant scheme, how does it work,??...do I have to be accredited to the scheme to take the work on or can I do the work and the client gets the funding and then pay me??
I’m not a massive company, one machine ,me and a gimp...do they look at the size of your business etc before making their decision to add you etc..
Is anyone on the scheme at the mo??..are they getting there fair share of headaches or quaving champagne on a yacht??

Or is it one big bollock ache and better swerve it??

Cheers lads/ladets

You need to be trust mark registered and sign up to the scheme.
You will be paid direct by gov after work is complete.
The scheme has been extended for a further twelve months and there is a lack of installers so may be worth a go.
One man bands are ok to join up.

I was about to say this

I’ve just got an email,I doNt need to be pas accredited to get trust mark affiliated but I’d need a pas for the green scheme!?...
So what benefits do the trust mark intail...is it just like an independent body like trust a trader, just paying for their umbrella etc???

Or do I have it wrong and this could be a fast track to the pas??

I want a pas..sounds sexy

no im not bothering.. the forms to fill on every job aswell when you submitt is a pain in arse.

if i do get a voucher job we can install under the manufacturer we use for a fee.

I’m not touching it, next year all installs have to be completed to pas2030:2019 standards, which include but not limited to removing soffit boards and insulating between rafters, changing the ground level and insulating below dpc, creating extra ventilation by installing extra air bricks or weepy vent in windows. You’ll also have to appoint a retrofit coordinator, retrofit assessor who should also technically monitor every job, bear in mind these people will want paying. You will then have to issue a 25year warranty via a 3rd party insurer which will have an on boarding fee and the insurance itself usually costs around another £100 per property. Good luck and god speed
You’re welcome

Forgot to mention for a QMS and pas2030 accreditation will cost around £1500-£2000 plus
Along with the trust mark registration fee I think is around £300 but could be wrong. I doubt the only people that will make money on this scheme will be the coordinators/assessors who can run round a few jobs a day to put a show in and also the cheaper manufacturers they will be nothing left for the bloke who puts it on the wall

Will be just a wage with a headache like the render guy on here last week trying to gets lads to do a full system 4 £20 m2 saying he had work coming out of his ears, bit like a skimmer saying ive got 2000 living rooms to do lads at £100 a pop, have as many as u like

Tbf I reckon by the time you’ve got through all the red tape and all the faff, you’ve prob only a few months left to run on it anyway..
They sent me an email back stating they are snowed under with requests across all trades,..

Wonder what did happen to that bloke with the £20m2 full fit??

Typical ill thought out government scheme,
It all has to be completed before the spring which is another nonsense, as how can you get big schemes set out and completed by then. Plenty of private ewi work about as said aswell, the incentive to the house holder is the 5% vat charged on the work.

I've had a fair few hogging my phone line...I always ask postcode...most live in areas where there is no money and are after something for nothing...a few rich penny pinchers that don't need the vouchers also trying to jump on the band wagon. External insulation is very expensive and always will be for a quality job retro fitting. The customer will never see the return on investment unless they are 20 years old and die in the property aged 80. Better off upgrading insulation internally and a good quality heating system.

Yes, but if your looking at re-rendering the external anyhow, with the vat @5% on everything, (classed as energy saving work) instead of 20%. you are in effect getting the insulation for nothing, the 15% difference covering the cost.

Boris and his chums have announced changes to the scheme, with an extension on the completion date until minimum of March 2022 so it may have legs.

Not enough profit in it for me mate plus you need to keep a gang busy I'm happy picking up the scraps. Have been earning a steady wedge this year just doing small jobs in fact probably more than when I was running a gang and alot less stress! Are you getting involved?

Internal insulation is also allowed on the scheme, why not get involved with that?

You could insulate for just 15% extra on top of cost for rendering?
