hacking off and rendering below a upstairs bay window (external)

alright lads
start a job on a bay window for a mate 2moro hack off and replace with sand cement render.
question is am i likely to find lath below an upstairs window after i hack the old stuff off?

and if so what should i do?

its a 1950s' ish semi 9 inch solid

might of dropped a bollock on this one because ive just assumed its masonary behind the Tyrolean render

my old dad says he'd put money on theres no brick up there.
can anyone advise on what to do if i knacker up the background if it is lath and whats best to replace it with.
my instincts are saying eml but if anyones done one of these before and could give me a heads up id be grateful

starting to see why nobody on the entire street has had theirs sorted out even tho there all looking like a bag of s**t!

that's a toughy mate.....whatever you decide it'd have to incorporate some fibreglass mesh embedded in the coats.....which will help with the form of it too
