I was working for someone the other day doing H/W and set and he said i should get a corner rake as it makes cutting out the internals alot easier and would be "the best £30 i ever spent". ive looked online for one using "corner rake" and cant find what hes on about. Has anyone got another name for the same tool? info where to get one?

never had the pleasure of useing one someone give me the low down thank you please

If you cant cut a Hardwall internal out neat, tidy and quickly with a trowel then you shouldn't be putting the wall on in the first place IMO

i was wondering why you would need this for float and set. but still i havent had the pleasure of useing one of these whats it use on and how is it used, looks like an intersting peice of kit

fair play never needed one so ill stick with my methods but cheers for letting me know:RpS_thumbup:

surely when floating with hardwall you cut the angles when the gear is soft. these planes are designed for when the gear is hard. hence plane. so at what point does someone that knows what theyre doing get in a situation where all their gear is hard and they havent cut their angles?

a corner rake...??? the only thing i can imagine any kind of plane being used for is scratching back to create a textured finish..like with mono renders...when floating, the internals are formed with a square when wet off ya adjacent levelled screeds and or adjacent external angle bead...if ya shiftin thru it quit just tidy up with a straight edge if necessary...cutting tools on a float and set sounds backward to me.....unless i'm completely mistaken with exactly what this piece of kit is...is there any pictures of it or examples on youtube..never even heard of a french plane?? heard of a frenchman for doin corner stones

The angle planes have got me out the s**t a few times when bonding flash sets and you're angles are foobar the lattice plains as good
