Used everbuild heat resistant plaster today over cement boards bloody thing didnt go off have to leaf it till tomorrow. Any body had the same problem ??

Didnt find the stuff to bad to be honest. I did go over it with a trowel couple of times which was nice but didnt set

youll be in trouble tomorow then mate if its anything like victas itll be really gummy to use like spreading a thick slurry take forever to go off but if you havent got it perfect before you leave it, it sets absolutaly rock hard cant even sand the ba stard stuff, reckon you might have to skim it again and just persevere with it im afraid

cant always be done like that ryan if its a standard skimmed fireplace and they want to put a log burner in the gap you have to do the face i think 600 up from the head and 300 out from the reveals of the face to avoid the heat knackering the plaster work:RpS_thumbup:

not quite if the fire place is like this
Heat resistant plaster
then you want to use victas to the measurement i said before to skim it in but if its like thisLink Removed for instance then i would try persuade the client to sand cement and lime freehand corners rubbed up and left as a natural colour, as long as its in keeping with the house:RpS_wink:
