Of course it doesn’t.
For one, I have the upmost respect for long served trades, and have never said anything to the contrary.
However, we’re only here for a relatively short time on this planet, so for someone to turn out with an interest in a bit of plastering (or whatever) and let’s put that into context in the grand scheme (no disrespect again to any trade) isn’t it better to encourage someone to have a go. Yes, the obvious likelihood is that they will fook it up. If they don’t, and get to a point where they’re happy (in their world), then great. It will have zero bearing on the take home pay of any plasterer (or other tradesman).
If you’re good (and can maintain it), you really don’t need to look over your shoulder.
You will always work.
