Alright danny nice site and hello to everyone else, ive been plastering 20 years fully timed served so hope i can help out . Hey danny you said your off to oz, my mates off in november he just got his visa through, hes going as a fixer dryliner (fibrous plasterer in oz), just gettin my stuff together so hoping to join him, ive been looking into it for a while so if you want to pick my brains ;)

Danny, was speaking to another spread the other day who went to oz when he was 18. He said its all Ames Taping and rendering over there, not much in the way of plastering as we have here. Saying that hes been back for quite a few years so don't know if its any diffrent now. He was telling me that you get plasterboard sheets anything up to 6 metres long and they fix the walls horizontaly so thats there only one joint in most walls! Makes sense when you think about it. Also sheets are fixed using some type of adhesive to avoid screwing.

alright mur, are you busy? your right peg its mainly tape and jointing but theres a lot of rendering, i read somewhere they were advertising for skimmers in some part of oz, so if they did adopt it (which makes sense) it would be another gold rush ;)
