Hey people your good advice needed please......

I am having new windows put in as part of a complete house renovation, my plasterer wants to board and skim the window revels.....the window company tell me that the window will be buried 20mm into existing plaster and so if I dot dab board and skim I will bury another 20mm this will leave about 10mm of window frame showing and so will look bad !

Is there a wire mesh or very thin plasterboard I can use to reduce this burying effect ?

Thank you.......
ps removing the existing original plaster is not an option......

just patch up/float and set the reveals with some hardwall and then some skim. PVA it first of course.

dead easy. rule off the reveals and twitch the internals.

You might have to mesh it if you have a cavity to plaster over or as twitch said above, i would use bonding instead

Thanks for advice.......it is a solid wall with timber studs butted up around the windows to create a form work for insulation sheets......hence within the reveal 2inches will be timber and the rest the older plaster......should have made that clear in my first post !

i've taken the plastic trim off enough times to find there's very little foam in there or none at all!
