ok lads,ive never had to quote for work before as ive always just ad a wage at end of the week...before you all start with abuse,no,im not a 2 weeker,i leant the game at 14yrs old from my uncle working as a lab for him on a weekend.i left school n went full time with him and been with him for 10 big long uns!! hes jacked in now n retired .im with a mate now just giving him a hand,ive been asked to do 2 ceings over artex n give a price,i think around £90 a ceiling including gear??? what say you lads???...ive only been given it cos my mate is busy,told me to price n do it?? ps,no fuel involved as i dont drive

How big is the ceiling mate? do you have to move furniture etc?

wouldnt go less than 120 a ceiling as long as its not too small

£5-6 pm or whatever u want for a day. which ever works out more

i would go in at 150 each if it was a 12 x 12 lid

1st ceiling is 4m X 3m n other is around the same,ive been told i will get the job as the customer has seen my work in other houses before...just dont want to feel like im rippin em off,but dont want to do it too cheap and make other spreads look expensive??

how are u going to to about it ,is it a heavy artex? if it is scrap the high spots off and pva and skim dont put bondind on first it just adds to the weight

Find the joists though and put new screws in mate.

thats it just that some people put a coat of bonding on first i dont think its a good thing to do and are the ceilings artexed over p board or lath and plaster
