I have 60m2 of silicone render to price for the materials, i have no idea of quantities or anything so what do i need? wetherby is what i will be using..

I will be stripping the pebbledash back to brick then going from there, have been told to base it on a 6mm finish so backing/basecoat/mesh then 1.5mm wetherby finish..

I will be getting help from an experienced renderer not just winging it :RpS_wink:

Don't shoot me @owls :RpS_unsure:

render first with a 10mm base such as ocr but WBY will prob want you to use theirs (krends) so it could be a hp so expect to pay around 9 quid a bag. after that we normally prime and apply textured silicone finish but from what you have put their you are going to use a mesh scrim adhesive (hi polymer thin base) over the 10mm render before you texture. costly spec indeed and if the said 10mm base is hp12 in WBY bag then pointless in my opinion unless there is a sever risk of movement/cracking.

I would go HP12 at 10mm fully meshed allow to fully dry out over a week. Then primer then silicone finish.

the spec you mention will cost you a fortune and is an anti crack spec that will take you more time also.

Thanks bud!

This is clearly just my inexperience!

so say if we were to go your route with 10mm base without mesh what would i need in terms of wetherby's base coat? looking on there website there is about 6 different kinds of base coat?

I just presumed that with all thin coat modern renders they all used mesh for strength?

cheers

60 M of render thats 6 buckets of silicone texture finish at ten square metres a tub and he will struggle to make 30 bags stretch to 60metres at 10/12mm brother
