Looking to start learning plastering, I have been working in the construction industry for 15 years doing brickwork ,patios conservatory bases ground works self employed but had to give it up to due to climate in the construction three years ago. Looking to get back into the building industry again but I want another string to my bow this time. So after all that rambling I just want to know is it worth while learning plastering on a weeks course to give me another skill because I want to go back being self employed or should I just stick to driving trucks. Thanks Jonny 74

Both are tough jobs on the body, plastering is probably healthier as you burn off the crap you eat, that aside, it will take a while to get into plastering properly, best way is to go working with a spread labouring and learn from him ,if its a small team you have a better chance, sadly labourers are been used less and less by small teams, best of luck

hi jonny,, welcome mate, the best advise i could give you has already been said by john,, good luck mate

You will pick it up in no time

It depends on where you based, seems theres a bit happening down south, still a bit slow up north, rates are very low so most spreads are doing there own labouring ...Best of luck though
