Hi, lads anyone any work going for a week or two just in between jobs at min, we do Ewi S&Cement skim but there it is give me a shout!

See your post is from couple weeks back, you all sorted now? What's your radius for travelling for work ?

That's seems unbelievably cheap no??? I'm based West coast Scotland and I get a fair bit more than £2.40 m2 what area do you work in???

Thats pretty good for the west midlands, we usually get £2.30 ish house bashing and £2.20 on big commercial jobs
 
I know talking rates is a bit of grey area on the forum but a genuinely quite surprised at that! Is there a lot of tradesmen within the area?? I was always under the impression that in Scotland the rates were lower than elsewhere!

Loads thats why the rates are pretty poor but even at £2.20 you can make good money, its just hard work but theres not many things that pay well for very little.

We comfortably make £140-150 a day. Could definetely make £200 a day most days if i stayed for a 3rd mix but in truth i cant be arsed to chase money like that

Its not great but at the same time we turn up do our bit and 3pm work is another life until 7:30 the next day. No real calls, no pricing jobs or chasing money, no organising materials. It has its plus sides.

Having said that im back on commercial work now, was house bashing the last few months and that was a nut ache moving all the time
 
Fook site work! Haha all the gaffers are tossers making out they are broke all the time I couldn't stand it I wouldn't last till breakfast now , I understand you got to do what you need to pay bills but I would order a skip and drive my van straight into it before I went back

Dont own a van, don't need one for site work

I'd end up punching some anal site agent or H&S knobber.
