Hi, just joined the forum so my first post to say “hiâ€￾ and explain my project.

After the winter we’ve just had I am now determined to make my modern house airtight. That means taking off all the plasterboard, sealing the walls / floor joists and either plastering or plasterboarding over. This is my first experience of doing anything to the walls, I had thought of taping and jointing and was thinking of doing it myself, but from various discussions on here it seems that skimming the plasterboard is a better way to go.

This project is underway now, I am based between Maidstone and Ashford in Kent and am in need of someone to plaster or plasterboard, feel free to let me know if you are available.

Alright bud..you sound a bit fishy :RpS_biggrin:
feel free to leave your contact details :RpS_wink:

Minh, I'm not looking to make a passive home - perhaps my comments above were misleading. I am looking to improve the airtightness by addressing the key culprits that make the biggest impact. I know there are draughts behind the plasterboard so this is where I am looking to start.

if anyone wants to contact me my email is ashhorneruk @ yahoo.co.uk (note: remove spaces around the @)

Hello welcome along and you will get the help you need on here i'm sure.
By any chance are you a Captain ?
I know but i had to ask :rolleyes)

Welcome Haddock, I prefer Haddock to Cod but my favourite is Monkfish and Salmon.

If you are going to make your home air tight have you considered ventilation? If not then you may get mould.
