I noticed that the hourly rate for plastering still at £10 -12 per hour it was this rate 4 or more years ago and firms
still use agency workers how much do they book you out for I wonder.
Used an agency once about 6 years ago they charged 17.50 per hour for a spread don't known what they paid him. All he had to do was a pricking up and floating coat to a 2m2 sloping ceiling on EML with bonding.
Took him all day to do the pricking up coat. Site agent wouldn't have him back to do any more.
an agency sent me some rates offering me tradesmen for £14.00/hr so the spread wouldv been getting about 10. I was on aq job once and the contractor got an agency spread to come and help us out. he turned up with the usual AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA to Z plastering logo on his van with his shiny new tools and buckets. I phoned the firm straight away and told them to get rid... so they did
I often get subbed in by a window/conservatory firm to dab and skim conservatorys and patching around windows etc.
They pay me £13.50 m2 with a minimumn charge of 10m2 to board and skim -labour only as they supply and deliver everything ( which im generally hapy with ).
But they charge customer £35 m2 as i recently found out.
Only conservatory I've done had to go around about 20 crooked caieling joists no more than 10 inches apart. Also going up to a plastic trim alsong the top which was no nailsed in and would pop off if I used to much preasure. This was that bodged up job that I helped sort out a few weeks ago.
