Hi, how long should it take a newbie to skim 4 walls of a room 6x4mts. a rough estimate would be great as i know some are faster than others.
Many thanks :)

plaster sets about the same speed to be hones dont matter who is using it just depends how much you put on, if you are new to plastering just do one wall at a time 2 an a half hours per wall plus 30 mins to prep it all.
10-11 hours roughly mate ;)

sorry miss read it, a newbie would be about a day and half to two days like church says. depending on how 'newbie' you are.

A new lad on his own is probably best looking at 2 days.

It takes ages just getting all your gear in sheeting up and pvaing the walls etc on your own.

Then 2 mixes 1 wall per mix.

Next day - 2 mixes then clean up and unload the job.

Hello Mate
Dont worry how long a job takes especially on domestic, as Nelly says it takes awhile, I work on my own and only do domestic and hardly ever get a room done in one day, but when I leave the room its spotless, carpets hoovered, all woodwork wiped down with kitchen surface cleaner and windows cleaned, this will get you more follow on work than anything

Mate it takes as long as it takes, and the next time it wont take as long. Take your time, speed comes with experience and practise. The more you do the better you get and quicker. Just concentrate on getting a good finish on the wall your working on and then start another.

Then maybe put on a wall and a couple of reveals, or a chimney breast... You'll get there, but untill you do just remember its the finish that counts!!

Good luck :)
