How many metres of hardwall and set can 2 men comfortably complete in a day with a ritmo m/l,once upto speed with the machine?

Sorry i'll add to that. You can do more then by hand however you still have to apply finish by hand as the suction is to high.

What you soon learn however is that MP75 is the way forward

So like what andy said it depends what you can skim by hand in an afternoon so i doubt the machine will increase what you can do, but might make the mornin a bit easier.

Yer untill BG make a backing plaster that doesnt suck the shite out of the top coat.

curry bg projection is worth a go aswell. finishes a bit smoother than mp and a set is about half hour quicker. depending on what your doing it can be a better choice

and if it were down to me id use one coat all the time. 2 nice 20m sets a day. easy day compared to trying to do 40m float and set.

Its been around a long time mate

Yer it has however untill the last few years a plastering machine was to large to make it a real option internally on smaller projects. The ritmo sorts this out in my view.

Also the uk is always decades behind everyone else and takes ages to accept a change in building methods, plus we have this funny thing about stroking walls before we cover them in paint with a motteld texture

Ill have a look in to it more nick thanks.

I'm proper Knauf at the moment as I have found a golden ticket and am off to the factory on friday :RpS_laugh:

ooh sounds exciting.

another thing, if you ever do bathroom refrubs, mp is excellent for that aswell. when youve got chases, bits of tile adhesive etc, that youd normally be bonding out first. just chuck a coat of micro on it, get machine set up and either pipes in through the window or up the stairs, takes about 15 mins for an avergae bathroom to get it on, then just a trowel up.

It seems like other ritmo user understand where im coming from. When we spray hardwall i alway think "s**t ive got to set it now what a crappy method"

Ill give that a whirl at some point. Just sorting out having a MP75 supply on tap whenever i need it at the moment

i got it set up so there was always a pallet on the floor in a sheffins near me. was getting it at about 5.60 a bag as far as i remember. they were adamant they were making a loss lol

I doubt there is much difference in speed on float and skim using the machine and with the drying out times of plasterboard and skim i doubt many builders will convert back to float and skim and if they did i would say their preference would be sand and cement, for cost and strength.

a few guys i do/did bits for used to like float and set and always wanted hardwall for some reason, even if i asked for s+c. but i agree, its not any more productive on hardwall and set because its what you can skim afterwards. but its a lot easier. on a job i did a few yrs back which was about 100m hardwall and set, we were spraying hardwall all day and skimming it the next. that worked out quite well.

Still 50m a day float and skim but like you say if the sprayin goes right it would be easier on the floatin side.

Yer untill BG make a backing plaster that doesnt suck the shite out of the top coat.

During a meeting with a BG rep some while back I suggested they were missing a trick by not having a backing coat that could be sprayed on, right through the property like S&C, and then finished with the spray finish.
He said "I've been to loads of BG product meetings and no one has spotted this flaw in our range.

You skimmed a 1000m a day? how many of you?

I think that what Nick meant was that they could spray all day long on day one and then skim it all on day two, probably working out nearer to 75-80m2 of finished product per day assuming two spreads.

What if one man goes back and starts skimming about 10 and the other carries on floating til 12 then you have the avo to both finish the skimming and you aint struggling as much with the suction thats my theory.

yeah thats what i meant. i havent yet reached the stage of skimming 1000m a day!!

it was a cold damp concrete building and the gear was still really skimable the next day
