how should i plaster on DUROX blocks

i want to put multi finish on durox lightwieght block walls.
should i use pva and bonding undercoat or what?
can anyone help with advise?
i dont want to use plasterboard.
this is my first time on this forum so hi to you all

A good unibond of the walls or a light soaking with water is what you'll need to do before you use your backing coat this will kill the suction on the blocks and give you enough time to put on a decent amount before ruling with a straight edge then key it up with your float.

don't use bonding ----use hardwall (a high suction plaster just right for durox or thermalite block)

you can damped it if you like but you don't need pva

personally i would use tough coat for higher suction stuff but hardwall will be fine

Durox used to be a real problem years ago with s&c always delaminating havent gone on them for years but ime sure H wall would be ok

dont use anything mate... a high suction block like that you would use hardwall. You can lightly hose down the wall beforehand, but NO PVA. HArdwall thrives on high suction backgrounds

I would use toughcoat over hardwall anyday its much easier to work with, hardwall is too gluey.

u lemon, if you aint got a hose at the ready and your gonna do a nice 30 bag float and set then yeah unibond works you melt. If you fancy a job ill give ya thirty a day to clean me buckets.
