hi mate of mine rang me today hes doing some hp12 an he said he mixed up 3 bags in a tub an it went dead while mixing

like flash set on him i normally mix up smaller batches than this cos of the high polymer content

can anyone shed any light on this cheers

never heard of that before, its actually a good product is there base coat. might be something to do with the size of whist hes using.

Bit confusing that. My understanding of something that's dead, is gear that has never picked up or set. Used tonnes of hp12 and never had a problem. Can firm up a bit 10 mins or so after mixing. Just liven it back with the whisk. Very strange .

Yeh, same as above,it does tend to thicken when left stood for a while but comes back after a quick knock up. A bad batch or out of date batch springs to mind. No idea what its like through a pump though?.

Goes through a pump lovely.Normally a bit wetter than by hand. Never really had aproblem with it sitting in the pipes for a little while either.

Hp 12 is a great product but it does stiffen up a few minutes after it's been mixed, keep your whisk at hand and keep it knock up, no need to add water
