Anyone going to be chasing work on it?

Also, for the Laandaan laadss orn 'ere (cam orn Mary Poppins. Shtep in tiyme.) Sorry :D Anyway, Dick Van Dyke aside, do you reckon it'll change work in London? I mean given that Birmingham and anything South of it near the stations will be within easy commuting distance. Even if it's a bit longer than they say, the journey time to London on the train will be shorter than the time to cross Birmingham.

Fookers have given permission to exhume the dead to build new train line.:wtf:

They haven't that's another bulls1t media nonsense. They have to drill a bore hole to test the ground type under the cemetery. They're going to do it where the cemetery manager says there are no burials, but just in case he's wrong and there are some old graves there they've applied for permission to exhume any bodies that they may discover.

The tunnel will be 80 to 120 feet below the cemetery. Any bodies that far down are more likely to be dinosaurs than humans!

I am for the HS2 but those on the new route around here don't want it!

But I am sure in the 1800's people said the same.

Daft thing is it can't go into Sheffield station, they are going to have a tram between the new station old the central one.

Got to move forward.

"This new hugely expensive transport infrastructure project is fantastic!" said no one living near it ever.

There is 2 sides to hs2 good and bad but even if it happens in the end it will lead to even more centralized London

I don't think it will, all the other countries that have high speed rail lines from the capital have done OK in the regions away from it. If you can have all the benefits of cheaper everything and still be in the capital within an hour and a half it then people and companies spread out. It takes that long to cross Birmingham at peak times.
