Done 3/4s of a bedroom a week or so ago, young lad had boarded the walls (looked like he'd measured every screw hole, was perfect) and all I had to do was skim em.. He was in mid twenties, young kid and missus, i really wanted to help him out so I quoted him £not alot and he rightly snapped my hand off..
i turned up as promised at the end of a busy day, by the time I'd put the second coat on I was shattered......so much so I decided I'd leave the last dry trowel as it was taking ages to set, getting on for 8pm.
Anyway, he rang me this week to do the other wall and ceiling but the wall had blown so I went over to inspect. As it's not everyday you get to see your finished work (un painted as well) I had a look at the walls:RpS_bored:. They looked fine at a distance and he was happy as larry but they felt like fine sandpaper, and had plenty of watermarks.
I told him the rough finish was intentional as it would now accept the paint better than an 'over polished' surface........ Then I said the dreaded words.....'a little fine sand paper is all you need to get these water marks out, you'll never see it when it's painted'
I'm a bad person!!
