i need to give a written quote for a celling due to water damage.
do i need to break down the cost. labour materials. or can i just give a final price on the quote.
cheers mark

Usually when sending insurance quotes state what included in the price but dont break it down for them i.e
All labour + materials+ rubbish removal= loadsa moneyyyyyyy !!!!!!

Be aware too many insuarnce companys will not pay you for upto 30 days after invoice,be prepared to wait upto 60days to have payment in the bank and cleared.
Also do not touch the job untill you have personall seen WRITTEN INSTRUCTION ON THE AGREED PAYMENT AND PAYMENT TERMS.

I won't quote insurance jobs. 9 out of 10 times, they do it themselves and pocket the cash, or expect you to give them some money back.

Yes thats right the insurance pay the customer then they pay you,but they used to pay the builder but builders were getting paid by the insurance and not finishing off the work or sub standard work so there was all sorts going on,so it went back to paying the customer as they say the customer is always right. But be careful as they pay out on your estimate and will use fred down the road on the dole to do the work cheaper and spend the rest on a new wardrobe,

Done a bit of insurance work over the years the only time it was made out to me was by nfu mutual all the rest went straight to the customer then to me.The old man had one years ago where the customer had the cheque and spent it all had to go to court ended up with about £20 a month on an attatchment of earnings.

The ins will pay the customer. Dont do the work till the customer is ready to pay and i always charge £25.00 for an insurance quote and knock it off the bill if you get the work. Too many times have i priced and they get paid and dont even do the job!!
