I have been doing a few insurance jobs recently, mostly replacing water damaged ceilings etc.
I managed to get these jobs via my ad in yell that states insurance work undertaken.
In all of these jobs I have had to supply a quotation on headed paper for the insurance company.
This is standard as most of you already know. But 9 times out of 10 the customer has never heard of me
and neither has the insurance company. I am curious to know is there any way to get onto the list of
trades for some insurance company's so that they contact the tradesmen directly when they need repairs
carried out for customers?

yes buts its highly secret and only the fbi no it or mr insurance thats the head insurance guy who live at insurance land

Maybe so but I was doing an insurance job last week and I happened to see an ad on the web
for the insurance company that I was working on behalf of .It said " we only use qualified and vetted
trades people" I had never done work for this company before so how can they write that.
But then again im talking about insurance company's here.
:P

been tryin to find out for years who to contact for this sort of work think most insurance companys use francised companys for the big jobs and leave it up to the jo public for the smaller jobs to find somebody

All Ive done for the past 4 years is work for ''Insurance Companies'' yes the money can be good but its not all its cracked up to be. With KPI's and policy holders from hell I would say if you have plenty of private work stick with that.

used to have to wait 4 ,6 weeks now most of the time 2 weeks.sometimes the clients are even sent the cheque to pay up when the jobs complete.a lot of the time i walk away cause theyl have a simple job ie new board where water damaged taped up skimmed over or retextured maybe£250 but want new wallpaper and redec to that room and why cant i just put me estimate up two £900 cause its only insurance ..pillocks..i just lt em get on with it ..

Its supposed to be 30 days, but you'll be lucky. In 2007 when we were working in Gloucester etc on the flood jobs it took anything up to 12 months to get paid up, and you carnt cause to much of a fuss as your trying to keep everyone happy. And these were not small jobs either

I got a call off a guy today saying he sorts out work for insurance and needed 'local' tradesmen. He told me that payment would be no longer than 30 days for any job done. He would want all receipts for materials as well. Business solutions was his comany name although he said he was just starting up after leaving a franchise somewhere down south.
All I know is that if I do a job I want paying asap and if I supply mats the custermer pays anyway and I keep receipts.

That sounds about right as your being used as a sub contractor, would be interesting to know what franchise he had

I have been payed upon completion by the home owner each time.
I think the insurance company forwards a check to the client once
they agree to pay for repairs.
