Hello everyone been away for a while P.C packed up a few weeks ago and me mate who repairs it is workin in the U.K.so never got it fixed anyway work in Spain has completely dried up so ime back in the U.K. working with my two boys on a site in Kings Cross, metal stud and board and MF ceilings, what a load of crap bad prices and keep you waiting for your money, bad managment, the electricians have forgotten the 6 mill cooker cable in four floors probably 30 flats all closed in some decorated and i reckon we are the only native english speakers on site.My mate is doing a simmilar job in Golders Green the plasterer has probably got 6 months work but he is skimming for £2.50 a metre supplying plaster and bead i suppose i should count myself lucky that i have work at all but its all been a bit of a shock to the system trouble is i cant see Spain picking up in the near future so will just have to stick with it.

I finished job this week for customer in banking ,in the last year he has spent about £60000 on his gaff brand new 09 motor on the drive and off to Holiday for three weeks soon so things are picking up ::)
 
thats bad lucius, last time i was on a site skimming boards was 91...92, getting 2.60 a metre labour only. i flew back to the uk last october for six weeks to work with my brother, had sod all work here,at the moment working from week to week, hope i dont have to fly back to the uk as my brother is not that busy either. how u getting on with the perlinor ?
 
Perlinors fine Del but ime realy itching for some multi been a long time, flew back with Ryan Air so the only tools i brought were pouch, screwgun and a few bits for this dry lining job but one of my mates has retired and got a job as a caretaker and said i can have his tools just need a wall now,

2.50 a metre are you sure thats right????if it is i would tell them where to stick it.you might as well go and work in tesco for that sort of money.

there the goin rates 2.50 labour only isnt a bad priceyou only have to put 70sq on to make it sort of pay, but not supply aswell that proper s**t
 
Gospel boys thats what hese doing it for my mate got some Albanian spreads to price it and they wouldnt touch it for less than £4 a metre supplying but the company dictate the price their is a lot off area thousands of metres so i suppose the guy just looks at it that he is in work for a while.

i suppose if the areas are big enough you can still make it pay anything is better than signin on i suppose, what does the cost of supply on multi work out at fibre tape, finish and beads must work out at about 60P/ mtr + wastage
 
dont know but i suppose you get 10 metres from a bag of multi plus beads and scrim whatever that comes to and as the job is that big buying in bulk he will save some money on that. Ive only been back a week, not crying about it but talking to people it seems London has probably been hardest hit by this crisis though i accept its not good anywhere you cant walk on a site and ask for work you wont get past the security which are all eastern european they seem to have it all sown up.

Things not to bad down here at the moment but I just lost a block of flats due to them running out of money and i am owed a lot at the moment and having to chase it.
